It is the responsibility of all working or volunteering in the health and social care sector to understand the issues surrounding adult safeguarding. This includes how to recognise elder abuse, what to do if you suspect someone is being abused and the latest information on dignity in care and deprivation of liberty.
Suffolk Adult Safeguarding Board provides a website dedicated to this issue and it is recommended that all working in the sector should be aware of it. Please click here to access the website.
For courses, please visit www.suffolkcpd.co.uk and look under the Adult & Communities tab.
The free electronic learning programme has been developed to deliver adult safeguarding awareness training to anyone working with vulnerable adults in order to meet the rising demand for adult safeguarding awareness training for Suffolk and will deliver the training in a cost effective way. Individuals will be able to take the course at a time suitable to themselves, a certificate can be printed on completion of the course.
Staff from SCC and partner organisations, including the voluntary sector, can access free of charge Safeguarding training via https://suffolk.melearning.university/course_centre and self-enroll as a learner (or use current user name and password if previously have completed the Care Act/Safeguarding E-Learning modules).
